Daniel and I finally arrived in Mexico after spending longer at a layover in LAX than actually flying. OMG. 4 hours. Customs was a breeze minus the continuous explaining of what were the presents for. You try hand gesturing for “wedding” with one hand because you don’t know the word in Spanish. Pamela and her sister Anabel surprised us inside the airport. So incredibly sweet!!!
They drove us across town to their home where a full spread of deliciousness was prepared. Her whole family was so very welcoming to us! Over dinner Daniel and I got acquainted with everyone. It was nice to see all the sisters together. I had spent 6 months listening to Pamela tell stories about her sisters (she is a quadruplet).
To start off, their home is AMAZING!! OMG! Their whole family was so welcoming and were great to talk to. Pamela told us all about what she had planned for us to tour Monterrey. She started her list and had mentioned about 10 things and then mentioned lunch. Daniel butted in, “Wait, lunch?? How are we going to do that all before lunch?” Needless to say, she wanted us to see ALL Monterrey before we left.
I am not an author. To be quite honest, I always hated English class. I write so I may share my experiences and remember the man I met on a bus who treated me to dinner with his family, paying and booking a hotel only to find out its out of business, fake crying in the Athens airport to get a ticket home, or remember the strangers who looked out for me on a bus. Some live, experience, and are fulfilled by what’s in their backyards. I find there is something truly exhilarating about cramming as many possessions into a bag as possible, only to complain you brought too many. This is my life out of a suitcase, hope you enjoy.
